Is GM getting cheap with gas?
I just took delivery at Boardwalk Chevrolet a week ago and like everyone says it was a quick and pleasant experience. I assumed that I will be getting a full tank of gas but the salesman said GM recently authorized the dealer to only fill the tank with only $10 worth of gas, less than 3 gallons! Luckily, the car already had about half a tank of gas but I was wondering for people who recently took delivery of their Corvette whether you had a similar experience or you got a full tank of gas. A side note, I think the owner's manual could be of higher quality as the paper its printed on is really thin and there are no color pictures which would make the manual higher quality. Here's a pic at delivery. Thanks for any replies.

Don't know who provided the gas in my C6, but the tank was full when I got my last one.
I agree the manual could use some more diagrams & pics, but the money required for color pics is better spent on the car to me.

( I would watch them perty close if you bring your car in for service.)
To the best of my knowledge GM still authorizes a full tank on delivery.
Most all dealers will give you your first oil change free. Find out what your dealer is doing!

Nothing to due with GM - it is the dealer.
Higher prices of gas probably influencing their decisions ... either way, I prefer to put it in myself .... I worked at several dealers and regardless of car model, they always put in lowest octane and worst local provider.

I believe it's the Dealer. My daughter bought a new Jetta from them a few months back with no gas and we were told it was that VW didn't reimburse for gas so we were on are own. When I get my C6 from another dealer it was full and was told that it's there policy to deliver all new car full.

I had a dealer do that to me once on a car. Not a vette, but still an attempt at shaft. As I was signing the papers, I said, "It is full of gas right?", he replied "we don't do that anymore". I replied "Then no deal". He replied "your going to walk over a tank of gas?. As I was walking out the door, he said ok, wait a minute. Needless to say I got my gas. Sounds like a cheap dealer to me!

I have done that on both new and used car purchases.

Got a full tank when I purchased mine.
In fact the only car I've never gotten a tank of fuel on was my Tacoma. Though I couldn't complain, as I did do very well with a deal on it.

I think your salesman is a liar, I find it highly unlikely GM "authorizes" the amount of gas to put in it. That's something the dealership usually picks up. Not a big deal either way but I think it's pathetic someone would have so little integrity as to lie about such a trivial matter and go so far as to make up a story about it.
