Default help remove the rear speaker trim!!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to remove the plastic trim that covers the rear speakers in the c6 but there is a few problems. How do you remove it with the rear hatch strut seemingly pinning it in place, also how do you remove the pieces attached to it without breaking something and lastly how do you remove the damn cover itself lol.

Thanks in advance

Go to the audio section and do a search. Good info there.

1. you have to remove the strut at the bottom and slide it off, then replace it when you get the panel off (2 person job, one to hold the hatch, one to take the strut off). Do one side at a time.

2. the pieces are just held in with snap clips. use a panel removal tool and just go slow. apply direct pressure and they will come off with a bit of force.

3. what cover do you want to remove? the actuall grill does not come off, you must take of the whole panel.

Ahh thanks! I'm trying to remove the panel the rear speaker grill is attached to, not the grill itself, its the strut im having issues with. My question is how do you remove that damn strut lol, I dont see any fasteners on it. Does it just pop out, or do I need to do something with those metal rings at the very bottom?

metal ring at the bottom is a retaining clip. Pop them off ( careful they can fly!), then the strut just slides off.

man I love this website, great! Ok I popped the strut off but the trim panel that covers the speaker has like a white plug about 2" in diameter thats holding it in. Do I just pull or is there some way to release this?

hmm the first one broke off that white tab, same with the second. Oh well looks like they were glued on there, no loss to glue them back I guess.

I had one break too, just use a good epoxy and they are as good as new.

Default plastic panel fasteners

Is there a trick to removing those tiny plastic panel fasteners? As I was prying on them, and I ended up popping the heads off of a couple. I guess its time to go shopping for replacements.
