Corvette sales if there were only automatics?
Opinions wanted on what Corvette sales would do if for whatever reason the manual tranny was not offered. Maybe Tremec burns down, and GM decides not to offer it any longer. Cost/benefit type decision. Maybe by then the automatic technology is just too good.
Do Vetters stay in the fold and just go with the flow of technology, or would they jump ship to another brand? Or just keep patching up what they already got?

This is the best value that has to offer (IMO). If they did that, I wouldn't be looking at one. Not because Manual > Auto, but because I enjoy driving Manual.
I ride a motorcycle, but my Jeep is an Auto. For me, an Auto allows my mind to wander too much, on the other hand, in a Manual I actually focus on driving..
I wonder what the numbers would be if it never came with a Manual?

A couple of choices here. Keep the one I have, assuming the DBS problem is over.
Not get another Vette.
I have stated before I would not get a auto unless some injury or problem forced me to use a auto car.
FWIW if some dealer offered me a brand new AUTO Vette for about $20,000 total deal. I would do it But I will not hold my breath waiting

I would if it came with a true paddle shifter ala Ferrari or Lamborghini.

I find this to be an interesting question, and from some of the answers so far don't surprise me. All the manual guys are saying no way and the auto guys are saying it doesn't matter they would still buy. I wonder how these same people would react if the question were what if GM only offered the Corvette in say Blue, or Black, or white. It seems to be buyer perferance just like most things are with these cars, and you will always get the same response's from people, like were getting now. I think your question should include some additional information to sort out this issue of manual vs. auto. But then I hope GM has done their research on this question to know where their going with the Corvette.

I wouldn't buy an automatic vette, for the same reason I wouldn't buy a dress.

I currently drive an '05 MN6. My answer is multi-part. I would have bought one in '06 as an Automatic only as I was excited about the paddle shift and had read a couple of good magazine reviews. I would not likely have bought one in '07 after having read some owner impressions. I would definitely buy one in '08 with the new improvements to the shifting algorithms as it will be much more what the owners were wishing for.
