race mesh installation ?
Got the grille and time to do the install. Figure one zip tie to a side is plenty. Should batten it down snugly. How many did you use?

Remember, they're made out of plastic!

nice ride
Great shot of the grille. You're right, no reason to not really lace it down. The ones they sent are pretty filmsy. Might use some thicker ones from the Depot. Going to do the silver paint deal anyway.

I used 8. I went to the Depot, but I went for another reason. Bought 'em waaay longer then the originals. Put them on more easily then I trimmed them down when they were tied tightly.
Try it!

I used six. But am thinking of adding a corrosion resistant material tie down as well. Don't trust those nylon fasteners long term.
Anyone got ideas on what else could hold these in place long term?

I use 6 (2 on either side and 2 in the center). I've attended 2 HSDE reaching speeds in excess of 145 MPH and I've had no issues.
BTW look closely at my grill, you'll see a leaf and in the lower center was a HUGE chunk of tire rubber. At 145+ there's no telling what kind of damage the hunk of rubber could have caused my radiator.
I consider my RaceMesh grill a major piece of track safety equipment.
But you’re not going to hurt anything by using more. I did have to use a silver Sharpie pen to completely hide the slightly visible spots where the black zip ties were exposed. Once I painted then silver they totally disappeared.

My grill was purch from Mid America - they call it a Billet Aluminum Grill. 20 min install. They just attach with Nylon Fasteners { of which I am alittle uncertain of over time }.
I am sorry guys yes it is not Race Mesh, but I wanted guys see other options as well. I called Racemesh and inquired about their various grills. I prefer the service of some of the other vendors.

Also, less vibration means less paint abrasions later.

Since my car has been used as the poster child for RaceMesh grills, here is what I did:
Wanting to minimize the visual impact of the ties, I went the minimalist route and used 4
(and painted them silver where they cross over the RaceMesh). I used 2 in the center
and one on each end. I've had mine on for a year now. No problems at all. If one should
ever fail, it can easily be replaced.
