Default Apsis New Remodified Slimmer C6 Mud Flaps (Z06 Style), Welcome your comment

Per CF members' request, we have remodified our C6 Mud Flaps to be slimmer that is very close to the actual size of Z06's. Some pictures attached.

We like to hear your comments, positive or negative. We will review your opinions and then go for new mold making for production.

We make a template from Z06 Mud Flap and then trim our wider part to follow the template so the new size is almost same as Z06. Please note that we reserve a little bit wider for the upper tip section to meet our production and warranty concern. We design this way on purpose but still it's quite narrow. We think the overall style should look OK.

In picture 3 we put our new slimmer part next to Z06 part for comparison. You can see they are very close.

In picture 4 we also put our new slimmer rear Mud Flap next to the front Mud Flap for comparion. The overall width of the surface for both front & rear wheels is pretty close.

They look much better now. Good job, and thanks for listening to the Forum members.

Still too expensive for my taste (I understand your needing to recoup your development expenses, but I need to retain my funds for more fun toys) so I'll modify the $50 GM parts ...

Kudos for having the good business sense to respond to your target market's concerns. They look much better than the first ones, now if the price comes in line I'll be contemplating a purchase.

When you figure the production cost and factor in the markup needed for a fair profit post the price.

Looks like you have listened to the CF members. Now you need to look at the cost.

Looks nice. At some point I'll be ordering some mud flaps - I just don't know from where yet.

Looks better now.

Could you please let us know more about the material used in the molding and its resistance to impact? You mentioned earlier that the material was somewhat brittle.

I think these will sell very well (I'm ready to purchase) if the price and material are right. Good luck.

Looks much better now. Do the front follow similar lines?

The cost does remain a concern, however.

Picture 4 shows the front next to an original Z06 front, orignal on the left Apsis on the right. I like the idea that it connects using the factory push pins.

We have posted a Group Purchasing Special at $185.50/pair (25% discount) two days ago but it seems most of CF members miss the thread. Please go check it out.

I'm interested in these smaller ones...Do you have any full photos of a C6 with these remodified ones on it?

Also where is the thread with a group discount on it?

If that price were for fronts and backs I think you would see some orders. But even at $185.50 x 2= $371 (for this one time group purchase) I wouldn't start cranking them out by the thousand, unless you've got a lot of shelf space.

ps: they look much better.

Dear WHT,

Thanks for your advise of Group Purchasing. We accept your advise and had posted a GP in the other thread two days ago. Hope it will make all of us in win-win situation.

The "material" is important trade secret so we cannot talk too much about it. This is the material that we use to make the carbon replacement parts for high end cars & trucks such as BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes SL550, Hummer H2, Cadillac Escalade and some C6 parts. The quality is very good and durable. Unless you have very strong impact to the parts, it won't break. That's why I said in our previous thread that when you see our products in person you will change your perspective. We understand in the mind of most CF members is thinking injection ABS plastic so you cannot justify the price.

In our previous thread, some members responed to the tooling cost and they know it will cost $20K-$25K (even Pipedream had got tooling quote and had posted the tooling cost in our thread) and such high tooling cost had discouraged all the venders. Thanks to our experience & knowledge we find a way out to make the products. Our tooling costs are still quite high but at least more affordable.

Now we have to throw away two sets of mold and remake new molds for new slimmer style. I hope CF members can appreciate our hard works and efforts.

I for one appreciate the effort, but after saying that, $370 is too much to pay for the product for what it does, given the alternatives available in the market, Pipedreams, Altec, & modified originals. I think as others have posted that a price of $180-200 for the complete set, front and back would make the product viable. It's my opinion that if you cannot produce them and make a profit at that price point I don't believe its a viable product. Just my $.02

Please refer to picture #4. We put both front & rear together for you to compare. Yes, the front do follow similar lines.
