Default Maybe......not

Take a look at this site. Their info seems to be a bit different than yours.
Hmmm... an Corvette with an automatic, or a 997 GT3..... that is a tough decision......

Default Can you shift????

Porsche times are tough to get consistantly. Practice launching. Just because they say it can be done, doesn't mean you can do it.......

Why the rolleyes, why wouldn't that be a tough decision?
Performance car enthusiasts considering their various high performance sports car options, quite simple really.

Apples to oranges. The 911 GT3 has more hp and less weight than a A6C6. The GT3 is advertised as 4.1 sec 0-60 and would kill the A6 C6.

I'm just going by the numbers quoted in the back of Car and Driver.....April '07 page 144....the part of the article was in regards to the "street start" (rolling 5-60 mph), not 0-60 times.....the GT3 does 0-60 in 3.8 according to them when launched from 6000 rpm.....they were saying with a gradual clutch engagement at moderate throttle at 5-60 is 5.0 seconds, while the vette is 4.6.....

To me the difference is major ... the price of those 2 cars is very different ... both have their positives ...

The GT3 package is what the Z06 package is ... a performance package for the base 911 ... like said before ... GT3 vs C6A6 ... apples ... oranges.

...............I would think that the basis for cost would not lie in a simple "1/4" mile number, but rather in the QUALITY of the vehicle produced...................

Me, personally, If I spent 100g's on a car, that thing better fly..I don't think most people who buy a GT3 do it for the quality of the build, but I could be wrong..

In other words, the 911 GT3 wasn't on-it while the Vette was likely *****-to-the-wall. IMHO and all other factors being the same, there's no way a stock C6 is going to accelerate faster than the 911 GT3.

The 911 GT3 does 0 to 60 in 3.8 when launched at 6000 RPMs!! Holy sh*t....I couldn't even imagine launching my car at anywhere close to 6000 RPMs. Even if I could avoid fragging my drive-train I'd be spinning my tires all the way through 3rd gear...and still at the 60' mark.
