Default Silver squares on underside of floorboard

There are a couple of silver squares glued to the underside of my C6 A6.
Do other people have these? Are they in the same location on other cars?

And lastly...what are they for?

looks like sound deadening, or perhaps a thin layer of protection against rock and road debri kick up. Where are they in relation to the car?

I was standing under the frond end of car, so the top of each pic
is towards the engine.

I've got them on mine, and have always wondered what they are.

Mine are peeling back tword the rear of the car. So I stuck them back and haven't looked since. Have no idea what they are for.

Exact same spots. I want to say that there's 2 more toward the rear, but I'd have to double check that.

I have these silver panels as well. I would call mine more toward the rear of the car than toward the front. There's a panel on each side of the car. What's interesting on mine is that there are signatures on them and a date. I think maybe these are signatures of a few people at the factory on the day the car was built. I've forgotten now what the names are. One day, I'll have get back under there and see if I can still read the names. My car is two years old now.

The Flux Capacitor coupling is usually around there. Maybe they removed yours and plugged up the holes?

Mine has signatures underneath as well. Mine are from the guys who prepped the car at NCM.

After further research I have found out that they are "speed squares" They are designed to blow off at 170mph. They are there to reveal if your car has ever reached this speed or not.

When I toured the BG factory a few weeks back, I think I remember these silver foil square sticker like patches served as 'padding' for the points of contact on the conveyor/carriage system that the bodies travel on...I think they may be the spots that the body is cradled on before they meet the drive train/frame....Just a thought based upon my memory...I think!!

Hole plugs only put on cars belonging to Navy guys... GM assumes you probably plan to go boating.

Sorry, could not resist... Retired "Army" Ranger
