Default When do you change your oil?

I am just curious. I have always been a 3000 mile or 3 month guy but I know some wait until the engine oil monitor gets near zero. What do you guys do?

First, ignore the horse beaters. Until there is only one opinion, their horsebeating is nothing more than rude. There are numerous opinions. I would recommend following what the owners manual says but if you feel uncomfortable waiting that long, follow your 3 mo/3K rule or anything in between that you like. Just don't exceed the intervals in the owner's manual. With the new oils that are available and recommended, the 3 mo/3K rule is really obsolete. But, the bottom line is; its your car and your money so the choice is yours.

It`s not the oil that needs changing so often
it`s the oil filter that needs to be changed more
often. At 3,000 miles look at oil, if it is dark brown
change the filter and top off with oil. Oil filters are
cheap. Using this method you can get the most out
of your oil.

I change at 5K, but I don't put very many miles per year, probably about 6 or 7K per.

Pappy, I am not trying to be a jerk, Is that a horse or a dog they are beating? I always thought it was a dog...

I use the DIC, it is a lot smarter than me or the shill oil companies and oil change places....

It's even easier to remember to change it if you wait for the DIC to tell you to do it though.

"When do you change your oil?"

Usually, just before lunch.

Oh, how OFTEN do I change my oil? When the DIC gets down to 50%. That comes between 3,500 and 7,000 miles depending on driving conditions. Your money, your car, your choice.
