c6 "targa" top?
I don't like to post unless I have to, but I searched and couldn't find much.
My question is this: Is the c6 coupe roof removable? I saw a pic on cars.com from an ad of a c6 w/ the big glass rear window there but the top removed.
Is this an option? The reason I ask is because this may suppress my needs for a substantially more expensive convertible version. Then I can pocket more $$ and buy one of these beauties a lot earlier
Thanks everyone, and sorry for being a noob.

I could have easily had one of these over my darn Boxster, but I wanted the convertible.
Now I am really kicking myself.......
I need a minute guys, while I go bawl my damn eyes out.

And for even more "coolness" in addition to the soild body colored top you can get the Lexan clear top:
Which gives the car a whole different character and feel, sort of like a custom show car.

I haven't done it in a while but I assume you still can.....go to the Chevrolet/Corvette web site....they have a 'car builder' feature that lets you build and option a new Corvette with prices. You can see all the available factory features and options.
The targa top does not have the true open-air feel of the vert but for those who prefer a coupe and/or want the storage space inherent with the coupe.....it's a great feature. I like my targa top very much.

Yeah, I did that immediately after I wrote this thread and if you read the descriptions, it says removable roof panel.
I see what you mean about the open air feel, but it's a small compromise for the great driving pleasure the c6 will give me. However, not open-top at all is no option. This is the most I'm willing to compromise.
Well, at least I can save $$$ now

here's something to consider and no one has yet to provide a good explanation.
The car comes standard with the solid (painted) removal roof - read FREE or INCLUDED in MSRP. Then you can:
1. Order RPO CC3 for $750 and get the 1 pc removable transparent top.
2. Order RPO C2L for $1400 and get both tops.
3. Or buy the car with the standard body colored top then buy the OEM transparent top from one of our CF supporting vendors after delivery for $1240 (shipped) and save yourself $160.
That's what I did. Someone needs to "splain" this to me.

Even with the removable roof panel stored under the rear hatch, there is plenty of room for luggage (beneath the stored roof panel). This means you can take a weekend trip and still be able to remove the roof when conditions warrant. Once at your destination, throw the roof back in place for security reasons.
Oh, if you get the clear top, Down South Vettes makes an awesome headliner you can use on extremely hot/bright days.

Z06 Option?
I sold my C6 last year and am considering next year's Z06. Tell me, do you think the optional removeable top will ever be a Z06 option or not?
