Default LED's in rearview mirror

Has anyone replaced the ugly stock bulbs in the rear view mirror with LED's?

I would like to replace mine with white LED's and just wanted to see if anyone had experience doing this.

Nah, 2 small LED's (I'm assuming there is only 2 bulbs) wouldn't be that bright at all. LED's do come in different sizes which would affect intensity.

Did you also replace that orange light that glows down on the shifter?

They are 194's. Many places sell replacements in all colors of LED's. I have blue. There are also 2 194's in the foot wells.

I put white LED's in the mirror and foot well and they work fine. Very bright when I get in. Keep in mind that they will stay on a little bit once the car is turned off. Can't remember the phrase somebody used to describe what is happening but has to do with the BCM and current draw and ? Anyway, if you have a manual tranny, that may be something to worry about with the DBS that some have had. I have let my car sit for up to a week with no battery issues but then I have an A4.
I have also put LED's in the side marker lights, backup lites and license plate lites. It is a different look since white LED's tend to have a light bluish cast to them but I like it.
Good luck.

Guys, where did you find the replacement LED's for the rear view mirrors? I'm very interested in replacing the standard lights.

Thanks,
Frank

I want slightly dimmer LED lights. I like what's in the new Lexus's. They use white LED's but they're fairly soft and not too bright. Suggestions?

Do the 194's pop in or do you have to solder them?

They push right in. The problem is getting the old bulbs out. Unless you have really skinny fingers you'll need a bulb changer (or some 3/8" plastic air hose).

Nope, the LEDs in the RV mirror don't bother me, a'tall.

LEOs are another matter.

Doesn't like to see LEO's (Law Enforcement Officers) in his rearview mirror (especially if their colored lights are on).
