Default Deal of the year?

Got a shot at buying a new 2006 fully loaded: 6spd, 3LT, nav, polished wheels, clear top, F55 supension, for $44.5. Worth throwing caution to the wind and pulling the trigger?

New or used? How many miles? I'm buying the same car but a new '07 w/ both tops and comp wheels instead of polished for $47,600. I qualify for GMS pricing. GMID is $49,700, MSRP is $55,480. So, I'd say if it is a new '06 and you don't qualify for GMS, it's a good deal.

My original post says "new", so it has no miles on it.

If I didn't already have one I would have purchased it already.

Wow, $49,700. The paper today here in Calgary has a '07 3lt 'sale priced' for $73,900. I know the C$ is less but not that much less.

GM Supplier Pricing for the 2006 specified is:

MSRP: $49,285.00
Color & Options: $5,340.00
Total MSRP: $54,625.00
Supplier Price: $48,951.34

So, your $44,500 is $4,451.34 better than Suppler Pricing would be. Not bad, but it is a 1 year old car already.

On the other hand, a 2007 configured the same would be:

MSRP: $49,940.00
Color & Options: $5,790.00
Total MSRP: $55,730.00
Supplier Price: $49,912.95

I'd say go for it.

Sounds like a deal, but you might want to shop a little for an 07 first. If the price difference is small you may want to go for the longer warranty with the 07.

I'm trading in my 07 loaded Z-51 to a dealer next week for $43.5k, I'm sure he would take $45.5k or less. Only 6k miles. Every option except glass roof retailed for almost $57k. Monteray red, black/cashmere 2 tone interior.

Sound like a pretty fair deal. I got 10k off MSRP on a new 06 3LT vert with a few extra options. But I beat them bloody, caught them at a really dead time and they needed to make a few month end sales to meet their overall quota. I think I paid 47K before taxes etc. Try Carl Jackson A Boardwalk Chevy, a forum dealer. He blew everyone out of the water. Remember they are only going to get cheaper into the winter months.
