Well if you read C6 forum, it's kinda odd. I'm sure there are dozens of them that are just fine. But then, there's the roof issue for '05 and '06s, and some say it may not be "fixed" yet for the '07s that've been delivered.
Then, there's the guy who drove less than a half block from the dealer in his brand new car---and dropped the manual trans in the street.
If this is what we're reading, how about all the ones we don't read about? Running changes and quality control.......just the way it is.
The problem is, it isn't a Lexus, and it isn't put together like one either. Read JDPower and AutoPacifica; they know quite a bit about initial quality surveys. Consumer Reports does a different style of testing.

Consumer Reports
Any product made in the USA will never make even the acceptable category in Consumer Reports. I only read them at the library where I don't have to contribute to their anti-American tirates.

I saw that before, they are referring to the C6 being unreliable.
They flat-out don't know what they are talking about.
They probably read about DBS [dead battery syndrome] on the 2005 models. This problem was cleared up by 2006 model year.
There is nothing unreliable about the C6.

After reviewing of the entire CR section, it appears they are referring to the ability to jump in the car and take a cruise with no problems. The Corvette is not very reliable in this regard, apparently.

of course this is a car that is not built for the masses. It is built for the enthusiast, us. We know and understand that high performance comes at the cost of some issues and we are willing to accept that. If all you want is the mushy ride of a Buick or some other luxury coupe with no road feel or wind noise than look elsewhere. That is not what Vette owners are looking for.

Don't let it bother you. CR is a green to the core politically activist organization that happens to publish a magazine. They are mostly loyal to whatever Toyota and Honda does. Corvette stands for everything they oppose and there's no one on their anemic staff of testers with the testosterone to drive one at the limit and live to write about it afterwards anyway.
