Once used to it you really miss it when driving a car without it. Yeah, get it.

I did not order it on my C5. My C6'has it because of the package and what other items I wanted. It is not a deal maker or braker for me. It is OK but I really don't catch myself using it that much.

Heated seats are a much higher priority to me than the HUD.

My 2010 GS is a 1lt so it didn't come with HUD, but it was one of the first mods I did and still one of my favorite and most used. I hardly ever look at the gauges.

For me, it isn't a matter of like or dislike. I just never seem to pay any attention to it. It may have to do with the graphics which are on par with the first computer that we ever had, black background and green letters. GM surely could have come up with something better than that for the price. It just doesn't attract my attention. It came with the 2005s as part of the 1SB package. Had I bought the car new, I still would have had the HUD because I really like all the rest of the options in the 1SB package.

I bought my 2008 LT1 and it was the only option I really wanted that I didn't have. Contacted Andrew6 a vendor on here and had him do a install. Just what I was missing! I love it. I went with the blue. I love it. Just what my car was missing. The $500 spent was well worth it.

I love the gauges in the C6, so I would be fine without it. I do like it though, and use it all the time.

I've had the HUD on all three of my C5s and absolutely love it. Won't have another Vette without the HUD.

Great addition to your car. Once you have it you wouldn't want to be without the HUD. You get use to it real fast.....

The HUD is a fantastic option. I held out until I found one with it. You won't be sorry you did.

I love the HUD in my 09 C6. I can never see the speed odometer because of the steering wheel so the HUD is great. We just took delivery of a 2014 Buick LaCrosse and we ordered it with the HUD, it awesome too.

The only real option I wanted on my new 08 1LT that I could not get was HUD. I had it installed 2 years ago. I love it. Was not worth the extra to me for the 3LT package but at 550 installed, it was well worth it to have installed after purchase.

From a safety perspective, the man to machine interface time (eyes to gauge) is greatly reduced. Your focus is outside the car vs inside. This becomes an important safety factor when you consider the number of times your eyes shift from the outside to the dash on a normal drive. Not only does it increase safety, but shortens processing (decision making) and refocusing (acquisition) time.

In the end, it adds safey and reduces fatigue, which in my opinion is a good thing when driving a performace car.....remember, HUDs were first developed for high performance aircraft for the same reasons.

Oh, and did I mention it's really neat?

Yes, get a Vette with one and if it does not have one, have it added.

I keep looking out the windshield of my Camaro looking for numbers only to realize I'm not driving my Corvette. Oh yes the answer is Yup.

Although I love the HUD in my 06 I do wonder why someone decided to place the G meter on it. The last place I'm looking during hard cornering is a tiny spot on my windshield. I did manage to give it a glance one time driving down hiway 1 from Mendocino and saw a .86 in the middle of a hard corner. It would be nice to have a recall button so I could tell how many Gs I managed in the last corner but to look at it (in) the corner is usually out of the question, not to mention a tad unsafe.

From the 2006 owners manual:

While in Track Mode 1 or 2, the maximum G value achieved during the current ignition cycle can be displayed by pressing and holding the PAGE button. The maximum G display will be shown until the PAGE button is released. The maximum G value display will be identical to the normal G value display, except the maximum G gage digits (X.XX G)and corresponding G gage bar will overwrite the
current G value.

I'm in the minority but I don't have it(1LT GS) & don't care for it. Had it on my 99 C5 & used it maybe 3 times in 8 1/2 yrs of ownership just to make sure it still worked..
