Default LS2 to LS7 swap

Anyone ever bought a crate LS7 like the one here: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...ges=1&pkgid=22

and intalled it in their base C6. Is there problem doing a LS2 to LS7 swap? Obviously there would need to be a PCM reprogram, but anything else I am missing?

I wondering if you can also swap out for the magnesium engine cratel as well the z06 uses to lighten the weight?

There was a partial writeup in one of the vette rags a few months ago.You would also need the dry sump stuff which is about a grand extra.Other than that,I don't think it's a big pain.

And move the battery to the rear. Check the Z06 FAQ, you'll find one of our members that did a full Z06 body and engine swap in his C6 roadster.

And upgrade the clutch, trans, rear diff, axles, exhaust, intake, fuel system... By the time you've invested all that time and money, you'll wish you had just bought a Z06.

I think the crate LS7 is more intended for Hot rod retrofits, like a 69 Camaro, or 32 Ford... I've seen where there is a 4 barrel carb intake coming out for it.

For a lot less money, you can make a lot more horsepower.

converting a C6 to z06 spec will cost more than buying a straight z06 outright. I would put my money into a supercharger, CAI, Headers, Exhaust, and tune. It will cost much less than putting in an Ls7 and all the other things to make it work.

Supercharger alone will knock the stock c6 hp up probably 150hp or more. some say 600hp.
