GM training for DBS and top repairs...
I saw a notice on another Corvette site that GM will be training techs today (10/26) on these subjects. I guess it is closed circuit TV or web training - I don't really know how the training is delivered. It would be neat if somebody with access to the video could grab it and post it on one of the video hosting sites. Or if that's not feasible simply relay to us their impressions/notes of what the techs are being told.

Actually they are using technology from Kontiki (kontiki.com) a company sold to Verisign.
How do I know it? We were the majority investors in Kontiki, and I was actually in Detroit when we demoed the project. This saved GM tons of cash - for most part they dumped their satellite uplinks .
Kontiki works like bit torrent ( BBC uk uses them too). Where basically the more people that watch the video, the better the stream. So when you watch it, there is a 2-3 second delay, and your video may actually be streaming from a computer on the LAN also watching the video.
Anyway - if someone asks if there is a way to hack into it, probably not. Security was very tight with the system, however screen capture utlities could record the video on an authorized PC (someone at GM watching it).
