Driving school + Track -- VIDEO
Hello evryone,
I just got back from an event called Corvette Perfomance Training held by Corvette Europe at the Hockenheim track in Germany (where they hold the Formula 1 Grand Prix).
It's a one day event where you get to learn a few things like drifting or how to handle the car in emergency situations plus you get to drive on the famous Hockenheim track.
This was an incredible day and everyone there was wonderful, very available, very knowledgable and always ready to help you and give you great tips. I was happy to be able to see how the C6 reacted in extreme situations and especialy happy to see that it can take a lot!
I went there with my C6 (2 hour drive from where I live), and then we drove in their C6s. They had 12 C6s (a mix of auto and stick, coupes and verts), 4 Z06 and 1 C6-R, but we only got to drive the C6s.
They used the Z06 as pace cars on the track and the C6-R was only on display, they only dove it a little bit so we got to hear it a little.
I shot a few videos, so here it is, if you want to check it out: Hockenheim video
Anyway, I highly recommend anyone to do this, especially if, like me, you have no previous track experience (more info about it at: Corvette Performance Training)

I can't believe I missed another Corvete event there. I live only 7 miles or so from the track. I was also invited to an event there last month from the local Corvette dealer. Why didn't I hear about these things when I was there.
And here I sit in Iraq.

Do they offer the program in the US? How about next year, are there dates for the next classes? The website you provided says that the last class was around 6 October?

Seems like the last session for this year was on October 2nd. They did it last year, so I asusme that they'll probably do it next year, but you're right no mention of that on their website so far.

Our last event for 2006 is Oct 28-29 in South Carolina.
There are several car clubs that offer HPDEs, and if one wishes to use a schools corvette, there is Spring Mountain near Vages.

Do those courses offer the same course material? or are they more oriented to racing?
