Default New guy with a question

First off! Hi: New Guy here.
I’m thinking about buying the next gen Vett, would that be a C7? I don’t know much about the Vett, I’ve been a Mustang guy the last 10 years. (be Nice) LOL
What I know about the car is that it will have a LS3 with 430-440 WHP and the T-6060 tranny that’s currently in the GT 500. Not much else!
How easy will it be to get 500 RWHP out of this car? Heads, cam, cai, exhaust, tune, what kind of gains can I get?
Sorry for all the questions, but I really like the new body style.
I also was impressed by the booklet GM sent me when I inquired about the Corvette.

Thanks Tim

During April and May of this year the people on this forum had a hard time specifically defining the details of how an '06 C6 and the soon-to-be-produced-in-July '07 C6 might slightly differ.

You're asking about how you might modify a C7 before it's been announced, and seem to be committed to your perception of its engine and transmission.

Good luck!

Don't think you will be getting a C7 in 08.

I don't think you'll see a "C7" until maybe 2013...maybe 2012 at the very earliest...just judging from the fact that GM doesn't change the style but every 7 to 9 years...

Where are you getting those specs from?!?!

Let's just say I know the LS3 and the HP numbers are correct, and also the tranny. I know you don't know me but Trust me on this! In time you will see
As far as the C7 thing goes, I was asking if the 08 would be a C7, like I said I don't much about Vettes. Are the 07's the same as the 06's? If so then the 08's will have the LS3 and T-6060 tranny. I think it's the 07, I'll get back to you on that one!

LOL! I didn't drive GT's I had a 01 Cobra and a 03 Cobra, the 03 had 500rwhp and ran low 11's all day. But there was that day the guy in the twin turbo Vett ran me and it looked like I dropped anchor. He scared me for life! j/k
Thanks for the info!

<<these are concept pics of the new C7
Hopefully GM will work out a few C6 issues before they move to a 7.
At least your coming to your Vette senses.

the 08 will not be a C7, regardless of whether they increase the HP or not.

I'm a little confused. You say you have inside information that the next generation Corvette will have the LS3 with 430-440 WHP (what is WHP? Same as RWHP? If so, that really convalutes this thread). But then you don't know when the next gen "C7" is coming out.

My question to you is this. Is your information about the engine referring to the 2008, and you are wondering if that is going to be a C7? Or is the engine going to be in the C7, and you are wondering what year that is going to be?

Thanks in advance for the clarification, and I hope your information is correct for the 2008 model year, because I plan to buy a 2008 next summer

Yes I'm sure it will an LS3 and the T-6060 tranny.

I confused also! Like I said, I don't know anything about Vettes.
It will be an 08 Vette, should be able to buy it sometime in 07. No I don't mean RWHP I ment Fly Wheel hp I left the F off (Sorry Typo error.) I don't know the differance between a C5,C6 or C anything for that matter. I don't know that the 08 will be called a C7, I was asking you guys if it would be a C7. I hope this clears it up a little.

Tim

I am not sure how he did it but a friend of mine had an '06 brochure sent to me directly from GM (he is NOT an employee). I believe that you can get one from either the GM or MYLINK web page. By the way, he forgot he sent the first one and about 3 months later he had another one sent.
