Sirius SIR-GM1 kit
Anyone know if this is compatable with the 6 disk changer (non-xm radio)?
Thanks in advance, Blair

Yes, it works, I am using it with the external trunk mounted disc changer. I have the NAV Bose system with a single CD in the head unit and the remote changer in the trunk. The SIR-GM1 works with it and the changer can still be controlled and played.
Wow, Crutchfield is already out of stock on these. I'm glad I got mine when I did. Just installed it last night...

Another vendor for Sirius SIR-GM1
I just ordered one from www.AbtElectronics.com It listed for $99.00 with free shipping. After I install that I am going to see if it will work with the Neucleus NC-X2i iPod interface. Hope it is all compatable.

That's kinda my question too, the description says GM compatable head units but does not specify what units are compatable. I know the NAV unit is but I'm not sure about the non-nav head unit with the internal 6 disk changer.

It needs to be satellite-ready - not sure if GM installed satellite-ready radios without XM?

Since there isn't an XM specific head unit, my gut says it would work. The SIR-GM1 comes with the cables to connect to the back of the head unit if required. If you already have XM, you can connect to the pre-wired harness. If not, it looks like Sirius is supplying you with the needed cables.

although I havent received mien yet, i can tell you that the XM antenna works at least as well. the radio will still say "XM" but the channels will come in correctly and you will be bale to program as before.

well i cant get it to work.
i have an 05 coupe and i cant get a signal.
I plugged in the yellow wire and i get "NoSignal" or "Silence" messages
Silence is probablya function so that you dont hear loud static?
Then I tried the black SM wire just for kicks and it gave the error "antenna", which i assume means theres no antenna.
"No signal" probably detects an antenna but theres not enough power.
Then i tried the included sirius antenna just to make sure my tuner works and it woked fine. weather channel came in.
what could be wrong? The XM worked a few months ago so i cant see it being a bad antenna (altough the antenna was replaced whe i first bought the car)
Is it possible we need the black and yellow wires?? what is the black one for?
HELP PLEASE?!?
