Default Some people are so rude!!!!

So I'm waiting to make a U-turn and I spot an orange C6 coming down the hill towards me. I give him the wave when he's far enough so that he has plenty of time to reciprocate. Not only does he NOT wave back, but he gives me a real sh%t look as he goes by me! I think he thought he was giving me a super cool look, sitting way back in his seat with his big fat, about 60 year old head sticking up. No smile no nothing. I mean are people just plain rude or stupid??? When i had my C5, it took me about a week to figure out there was some deal about the "wave". I think azzholes like this idiot should not be allowed to own a vette. Rude or stupid, no excuse. How much effort does it take? Normally it doesn't bother me so much when people dont wave back, but if you had seen this guys face, it just really irked me......

It's attitudes like this that make me not want to instigate a wave. I'd definitely reciprocate if waved to first (as long as I see the wave!).

When I ride a motorcycle, I always wave as I do when I pass a Vette. Some wave back, some don't...not likely to stress me out when they don't. I have my friends, I didn't buy the car/bike to make them.

Go ahead and wave anyway. Where I live, the majority of Corvette drivers will wave back. If they don't wave back.... **** em! The world is full of egotistical, self-absorbed, self-important a**holes (even some that drive Corvettes). Most important...don't worry about it!

I really get irked by childish posts like this. If you get worked up when someone doesn't wave when you do, maybe you shouldn't do it.

If this is the worst thing that another driver does to you on your daily commute consider yourself lucky.

Does the owners manual say you are to wave at all Vette owners? Have you ever driven to work mindlessly not remembering any of the details of the trip?

I usually wave and if they wave back - great. If they don't - no big deal.

My advice to you - relax and enjoy your car, don't worry about other drivers and what they are doing, as long as it doesn't impact you.

So, if I waved to you from my F55, you wouldn't reciprocate?

I wouldn't get upset if someone I don't know and may never see again didn't waive at me. Why give this guy any free rent in your head?

Aw jeez, didya ever think that the guy had no idea why you were waving and was trying to figure that out (and trying to see if he knew you)?! Not every Vette owner knows about "The Wave."

The Wave's a cool tradition. Not law. Maybe that look you took as sh%t was him seeing your wave at that last minute and wondering if he knew you. Don't assume everyone driving a vette knows the wave or even sees your wave. Guess what? Some people watching the road and other traffic and will never see your wave, or will see it too late. With window tinting and traffic and light reflections it's often hard to see.

I wave, and sometimes get a response. At times the other vette waves first and if I see in time I wave back. It's cool but no big deal. Chill.

I am new to Vettes with my 07', but read plenty about waving and many people saying they don't get waved back to. I have noticed (in only a week of driving a vette) here in Minnesota, every Vette owner waves. In fact they usually beat me to it. I don't think anyone has not waved. To all the Minnesota vette owners out there!

They've been waving since I had a '63 Stingray back in '65. It's a really great tradition. Sometimes, though, you have to just consider the source when it comes to rude people.

Maybe he was busy leaning his head back to look through the bifocals to verify it was a vette and by then was too late to wave back.

My wife pokes at me because I waive to ALL Vette owners and they very rarely acknowledge back. She thinks it is very "geeky". However when someone does waive back, it's pretty cool!
