I know that the Corvette team folks frequent our forum, so I hope they read this thread.

The Stingray is a VETTE period. I agree that it's hard to believe GM would run the risk of polluting their most successful line of cars by naming some other vehicle "Stingray". To me it's nothing short of blashphemy.

GM can lose market share....GM can lose tens of billions of dollars....GM share prices can plummet but a non-Corvette Stingray? That does it.....I'm selling the rest of my GM stock.

That may be the thoughts of Corvette owners like you and me but what about the people who have always wanted a Vette but could never afford one or the insurance that used to go along with it. There are still a large number of Wannabees out there. And with the gas prices on the climb, 30+ mpg on regular gas might be a real draw. I have heard numerous women make extremely favorable comments about Sky and the Solstice so if it has style equal to or greater than either of those it may prove to be a winner.

In addition, the word Hybrid also comes to mind.
