The dealer had to replace the Climate Control dash unit on my 2005 C6 today, and the new unit has chrome trim rings on the temp buttons. Based on a quick check of the GM website, it appears that this was a 2006 "upgrade". The problem is that they do not match the solid black volume and station contols on my stock 6-CD Bose radio head unit.

The dealer's parts department insists that they do not see a part number for the two chorme trim ring buttons that I need. He tells me it appears that buttons on the 2006 radio cannot be removed.

Has anyone changed to the 2006 chrome ring controls? If so, could you provide any assistance, such as the part number and/or the name of a dealer that ordered the part. I assume that the same radiio was offered on the 2006, or at least one with removable buttons like those on the 2005.

It is nice to have the AC working properly, but I would like to clean up the appearance.

I upgraded to SS Insert's billet *****.. they look great.. were you looking for the stock C6 *****? happy to send them to you for free..

He has those ***** already on the new unit. He wants chrome trim radio ***** which they don't make.

I have the Nav, so I don't know what the radio control ***** look like. I was guessing that they were the same **** as on the climate control. Guess I was wrong.

On a 2005, the climate control ***** and the radio ***** are interchangeable.
I upgraded all four of mine on the 6 disc cd radio amd CC.
Try gently pulling on the ***** on the redio....mine just slipped off like the climate control *****.
Then you can try your new chrome ***** on the radio for fit and proceed from there.

Looks like I was wrong. :o :o I just looked at the accessories catalog and the picture of the CD radio does appear to have chrome *****. They seem to be the same size as the climate control *****. Sorry for the bad info. That's what happens when you answer from work.

On '06s without nav the radio ***** are identical to the A/C ***** (with chrome trim). On '06s with nav, the much smaller radio **** does not have chrome trim.
