c6 z51 beat new gt500
In the new car and driver issue they had a comparison of the mustang gt500 and the c6 z51. The c6 beat the gt500 in every performance category even with 100 less horsepower. Let alone the z06.

I hope this is official because it will also means that the value of the C6 will remain high and dealers that are wanting to ask $10K above MSRP for the Stang will get stuck with them. Getting smoked by a car that cost way less would kinda suck...ask the Lambo guys how they feel about the Z06
BTW...here is the first performance info given on the GT500, so again I will say I hope these numbers are wrong.
PERFORMANCE (C/D est)
Zero to 60 mph: 4.0 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 12.5 sec @ 116 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 160 mph

BUT..... keep in mind that just like the 03-04 Cobra's , a tune, CAI, exhaust and pulley swap, can add about 70 - 100 RWHP
They are claiming though, that Ford purposely made some design chnages on the GT 500 motor, to make it more difficult to change out pullies in the supercharger
