Why do so many refer to their car as "Her"?

Referring to a car as "it" is rude?! Like it has feelings?!

Let's see....
Sensuous body
Beautiful curves
Great headlights
Looks great topless
I think I could go on and on. Unfortunately I haven't been able to come up with a female name that seems to stick so for now she continues to just be "the Vette."

Me, being an ole male chauvinist, would never drive a "girlie" car/truck.
Remember gang it is my opinion and I do respect others opinions, as well.

Wasn’t there a huge flame war started by the Z (super car folks) that claimed the C6 was feminine, wussy and sissy looking while the Z has a masculine macho KICK AS* super car look? I started calling my vette "A boy named Sue" after reading those posts! Now someone is actually suggesting that our cars are in fact feminine looking? Geezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

You see her and can't forget her. You saved to take her out and decide you must have her. You finally get her and then find out how expensive she really is. That why the Vette is called a girl. Believe me after 52 years of married life I know. At least I think I do. Don't I honey??

Because of all the "b" and "w" expletives that may be uttered when working on it.
