Beeping when I open the door?
I've had my C6 coupe for 10 days now. Car is fantastic. However, lately when I open the door I get a beeping as if the lights have been left on. However, I have the lights on auto. Sometimes it beeps and sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Glenn
P.S. I finally got past 500 miles today and the car sounds AWESOME at wide open throttle!
Thanks,
Glenn

Maybe the parking brake is not fully set?

You could be getting interference and losing the fob-car connection right at shutdown.
I've had that a few times, but there's a DIC warning 'no fob detected'.
If I move the fob to another pocket the message goes away.

Only time I get that, along with a few horn honks, is when my wife is still in the car with her fob. Seems like she takes forever to get out of a car...

Thanks for the input. I haven't seen any warnings on the DIC. We also get the three honks when my wife is with me, but this is different. It's when I'm by myself and I go to get in the car for the first time in a hour or so, I get the chimes. Not sure what it is.

I am sure lucky I found someone that will put up with my warped sense of humor!
Thanks,

It chimed at me again this morning. First thing going to work. My wife was gone so the second FOB was not in the vicinity. It started chiming as soon as I opened the door and didn't stop until I closed the door. No messages. The seat was not moving because I don't have the memory option. I went about 10 feet, stopped the car, and got out because I forgot to put the garbage out. When I went back and opened the door, no chimes, just normal. What the heck?

beeps because of serveral reason.
when you open the door after driving it, it will not beep. however if you close the door after just from opening it, then go to open in again, it will beep. if you do the same exact thing, but you lock it before you open it again, it will NOT beep.
when in accesory mode, when the door is open. no matter what.
so basically lock and then unlock it when you want to open the unlocked door again. then it wont beep.
the people that said it beeps when you get out, you opened the door, closed it, and opened it again....then you got out.
thats how it works.
hope this isnt confusing.
if its something different, something is wrong.

OK, maybe we are getting close. It chimes the very first time I had opened the door after shutting it down the night before. Is there any trick in shutting the car off. I just push the bottom of the start button. Am I somehow putting it into the accy mode when I do this sometimes?

And, if you get out and look back, the starter switch light will not turn off for 10 minutes, I think.
Are you opening the door before the memory seat is done moving back?

Try it again and see.
