My Experience with a BMW M5
Have to be on a call in 8 mins, so this will be quick....
On the way home from work tonight, (one a closed course, naturally), I happened to run across a spanking new BMW M5 who was traveling far too slowly in the fast lane of the Florida Turnpike (section closed, of course). So, naturally, after giving him fair and ample opportunity to move over, I passed in the middle lane. Apparently he did not appreciate this, perhaps had something to do with the Cuban flag hanging from his rear view mirror, not sure. Regardless, I came to learn that (on a closed course), the 05 C6 Z51 does quite well against the 500 HP M5 at speeds ranging from 65 - 100. As long as I knew when he was going to launch around others (on this same closed course), I could easily keep up. Nothing dangerous, nothing excessive, just a few tests of acceleration between 4th and 6th gears. So, there you go....now get out on your closed course!
Gotta run........

What does IBTL mean?
What do you mean "closed course"? If the road was closed, how did you and the M5 get on it?
Where is the site police from Kentucky?? Why did he not shut down this thread???

first, let me apologize for getting in before the man. not intended, just thought i would share an experience that was both safe and m*stly legal.
second, i wholly agree with the big fat BMW comment. It was huge, bulky didnt appear sleak at all. When i came up on it, i didnt know it was a m5 until i was within eyesight of the M5 emblem. A friend of mine just bought one and although i havent been in it, the looks arent there. Too bad, since he paid in excess of $85k....and could have had a Z06 for that loot.

I belong to 2 other boards, and this one is so by far the best. People, info, sponsers, and more. Rules are rules. It's Troy's bat, ball, stadium, and team. His rules. End of story. Besides, I don't want my kids, my brothers kids, or anyones kids reading sh** about dangerous, illegal racing. Just my .02

Think I ran into the same guy, same road, a few weeks ago on the way to Jax (when my car was actually running). After "strecthing my legs" a couple of times, he realized it was not your average Corvette, gave me the thumbs up, and went along his merry (frustrated) way.
