Do you smell gas fumes???
We have a 01 Convertible and recently when we fill it up we've been smelling gas fumes. We can smell it when it's parked. After we burn a few gallons off the fumes go away. Have any of you had this problem??? This is driving me crazy

My 06 is the same way, it's no big deal. Instead of asking to fill the tank, just ask for a certain dollar amount. Gas attendants tend to overfill tanks just to round the price to a whole number. The smell is from the excess fuel being drained from the fuel line leading to the tank.
I asked the same question six months ago and this was the answer I received. Since following this procedure there has been minimal if any gas smell when refueling.
