[QUOTE=Bone Daddy]Got my new console lid on yesterday. One word...."Perfect".
I finally met fellow forum member and owner of Down South Vettes "Gerardo" last weekend at the Corvette Expo in Houston and purchased the first 3-piece mono-chromatic version of his console lid. He has made several plain versions (no stitching) but I when I saw his two-tone version (with stitching) I knew right there which direction I was heading.
Real leather and matches my OE cashmere nicely. Stitching looks good and has a nice soft padded feel. My elbow is very happy about right now. It was the long drive home last week from Bowling Green when I knew this has to be addressed. (Hello GM!)

Super nice guy and asset to Corvette community! He has a good eye for what looks right. Just look at his beautiful silver C6 on his website.

Very nice, however it needs the C6 logo on it to be acceptable.

I really can't figure out how to install it. It looks great - I received it a few days ago - but I'm at a complete loss as to how to get the old one off and the new one on. Please help. Thank you.

Its just taking the four 15 torx screws, the console should come out. Install the new one and install the screws again. I am going to be out for a few hours so if you need to call me at 956-572-6217 so I can help you over the phone with the installation.
Thank You

Boy, am I an idiot. First thanks for the prompt response. While you were sending it I DID figure it out. you sent me the complete unit, including the hinge - and THAT's what I was trying to replace. I went to Lowe's, bought a set of Torx screwdrivers (which I've never had a need for before, but should have had anyway ), and replaced the LID. It took me about 1 1/2 minutes. I'm now going out and putting back all the things I pulled apart - but that will force me to finally clean all those areas I couldn't easily reach before. I feel REALLY dumb, but I guess that's what "learning" is all about. The new leather cover is absolutely beautiful and I am super-satisfied. I'll be sending back my original core on Monday. Thank you, again. -- Allen

Give me a call at 956-572-6217 I will honor that price to forum members during the month of March. Its around a 3 week waiting time at this moment. For this month we are not charging extra for the two-tone or the single color with stitching.
Thank You

Now that is a classy mod. Matches interior color with matching stitching. Gives it the tailored look.
