Letter from GM concerning Roof Seperation

Burning Brakes
Got my letter on Thursday (Mar 2). Thought I would check out the forum. Sure enough there's this thread. And I had kind of skimmed over the 2007 and was thinking I was going to have to pull the trigger right away. I have had no symptoms, so I will put in the file at the ready if the symptoms show up.

I guess the 2007 deadline means I should pull my painted top out of the closet (where it has resided for the past 16 months) and use it for a while to make sure it has time to go "bad" if it is one of the affected. I have an early VIN and maybe I should be concerned.

Got the letter today, although I had already taken mine in Friday of last week. They ordered the repair kit, even though mine has had none of the symptoms. The repair kit is "preventative maintenance." Still gotta schedule a date to take it in after they get the kit.

Black tops will absorb more heat just because of the color. I wonder have they had alot of problems with white painted tops since white reflects heat.

I had my 2005 C6 bought in August 05 have the roof nearly fly off. I had it replaced and within two weeks the popping and squeaking began with the new one. Bought a transparent/solid roof and have had no problems. Just took my car into service for an oil change, and they offered to get me a third roof and told me that there is an official recall. I took them up on the offer and they ordered a new roof. I never got a letter from G.M. however...

Here's the TSB info. which includes a link to a .pdf of the actual bulliten.
I haven't received a letter so can't provide that...my car is outside the VIN range so shouldn't get one.
