I'll be ordering an 07' soon, and I'm trying to decide between Victory Red and Velocity Yellow. My 01' was Torch Red, but I haven't seen the Victory red yet. How close is it to Torch and if you have the color, how do you like it compared to the Torch on the C5's?

Can someone post some pics of their Victory Red or Velocity yellow?

Do yourself a favor and try to see the colors you like in person.
Pictures although nice to look at, can be misleading.

It's a big purchase, don't cheat yourself!

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture showing the two side by side, but Torch red has a lot of orange in the paint. That's what gives it that beautiful, bright, vibrant appearance. It is my favorite solid red color. Victory red is basically the same paint without the orange added, not as bright, but definitely says RED. It's actually very close to the color they made in the early 90's called "Bright red", code U81. My 92' vert was that color.

Both are great looking, but I would love to see Torch red brought back. My 05' is magnetic red. Below is a pic of both my Babies out at Medina Lake before I sold my 92'.

I must say others have said the VR is more like a ferrari red. The torch red has a bit more orange in it I believe. The cobolts come in VR, I bought my VR after looking at the color on a cobalt (when I ordered VR was out for a month and no-one in my area seemed to have one in stock).

I have a Vic Red C6 and when I compare it to a Torch Red car I think the red is darker. The Torch Red in my opinion has more orange in it and the Vic Red has a darker hue to it. But in the sunlight I think it is pretty close.

I'm happy with the Red but I was in Kerbeck's last Thursday and they had a Yellow Vert and it was sharp. On the way home I said to the Bride that yellow vert was sweeet. She said I should get a yellow Coupe, it would provide a place for me to sleep. I think she's trying to tell me something!

To me, the orangeish tint in Torch Red does not look quite as nice in bright sunlight as the "pure" Victory Red. But under cloudy skies or early/late in the day, the orange tint disapears and it looks better. If I had to chose between the two reds, it would be tough. But for my C6 it was easy- Victory Red.

Just remember, you're buying the car for you, not us. It'll look great in ay color.

I had a torch red c5 vert which I loved the color. If it was available in c6 I would have got it. The victory just doesn't do it for me. I really love the yellow!
