Wow...

Excellent post.

Congrats, enjoy, and remember it was the journey to the car that was your accomplishment and not the car itself (just tell yourself that after you notice the first scratch on the finish... ...it is just a car)

Me three. I bought a pre-owned C5 in 2000 after waiting and saving for three years and in the end my wife had to push me to do it, and told me the same thing as yours to get me to order the C6 in November to replace the C5. Great post! We are very lucky to have such wonderful spouses. Congrats!

I was finally there. I had arrived. Family, friends, job, house, car, they were all in place. Then I thought about the money I had spent to get there. My wife of 20 years read the look on my face, and said that I deserved it. I was the best Husband there is, and I deserved it. I didn't even know how to respond. It's a moment I'll never forget. Mark
I could not have said it better myself. My wife said almost the same thing me and to this day it still touches me like it did that day... Enjoy the ride.

Sounds like you have it all together and have been blessed. I had a similiar experience. It's great to have a supportive wife instead of the opposite.

Same here - waited from 13 to 35; first got the wife and job, then house, then college funds for the kids and began my IRA and 401k.

Finally, pulled the trigger on the Vette. I still think I spent more than I should, but I'd been waiting for 22 years. Hey, you only live once. I've seen too often, in my profession (medicine), you never know when your number is up.

That said, you set your priorities, then when the time is right, you go for it.

Congrats, man, and enjoy!

Mark-
Amazing cirumstances: You and I ordered our blue coupes on the same day, and it looks like they were on the same truck. Like you, my experience was a family affair. My son drove us to the dealer so my wife and I could drive the car home. The three of us were in the office while the sales guy finished up the paperwork, and I stood the whole time looking out the window as the detailer washed the car. This is Denise's and my "empty nest" activity, and we Zaino'd the car today, all day. I'd truly like to meet you and compare notes. Looks like we're heading down the same happy road.
