Default Anyone having issues with the power top??

Has anyone had any issues with the power top? After unlatching the front latch, is it fully automatic?

I am considering a convertible and would like some details. Thanks.

I have 2 05 verts with power tops. I have not had any trouble with either one of them.
I highly recommend them to anyone. I have owned a C5 manual top and I can tell you with the power top I drive a lot more with the top down. Any drive over 1 mile I will have the top down.

Mine is great! It is fully automatic once you unlatch, you just have to keep holding the botton down until the unit is done and it clicks to lock everything away.

I have never had a problem with mine and I am thankful that my wife really wanted me to get this option! I was originally not going to get it and I am so glad that I did. I would do it again without a second thought.

Happy Driving!!!!!

I have a power top on my 05 and skipped over several other Vettes without the power top to get this one. I really love it, no issues, works perfect. You will just plain use it more as a power top, the spontinaity is the fun part. Get to a set of lights and zip down it goes. Good Luck!!

No comparison to manual top.Just unlatch hold down switch and 15 seconds later it is done! Makes driving with top down easier to do spur of the moment. At stoplight etc.

Anyone have top issues right after pickup? I just picked up a new vert yesterday, and I have two minor issues: (1) the tonneau cover sometimes rubs against the top during opening & closing - think this is because I have the seats all the way back, which interfers a bit with the folding operation of the rear window portion, (2) the system doesn't alway want to pull the tonneau cover fully closed, like it is having a hard time compressing the top into the cavity below the tonneau - dealer said this is because top was never lowered before and car sat in storage for a couple months with top up.

During the PDI, it was discovered that the module that controls the power top was defective.
It didn't shut off, and caused a constant drain on the battery.
So, they deactivated the module and replaced the battery.
I am waiting for the module to arrive and visit the dealer for replacement.
In the meantime, I cant drop the top.
Also, the power decklid release doesn't work.
It works through the same module.
The only way into the trunk is with the key.
I have the car 4 days, with 50 miles on it.
It is a 2005 leftover, built in August 2005.

When I picked up my '06 the tonneau did hit the top the first couple of times, but has not done it again. I love the power top!

Mine also did it the first couple of times I tried but then seemed to stop after I cotinued trying. POWER TOP was one of the reasons I wanted the C6 over my old C5.

My problem seems to be gone now as well. Weather is not great for driving here now (but I did anyway), so I had some time to sit in the garage and watch the top go up and down many times. Looks like it just needed some break-in time like most things.

Waited specifically for the exact vette with power top and wouldn't go back. No problems thus far and I don't expect any. And I agree with the poster that said anything over a mile is with the top down--only, anything out of the garage is top down.

I'm still waiting on the vert to be built, but I almost passed on the power top as well. Dealer talked me into it at the last minute! Sounds like it might prove to be a good thing with all the rave reviews from you guys!
