Mine's supposed to show up today too - it was listed for yesterday, but didn't make it.

Are you referring to version 2.0 NAV update disc, or the disc that fixes the reception problem and upgrades the CD to play MP3? Both are available from GMpartsdirect.com.

Yes, the discs came today - update was easy and worked as advertised.

Great to hear. I can't wait to get back from Florida and pick up my discs from DHL.

I have a question about one part of the procedure where it says: Using the Tech 2R, Clear any/all DTC's from the radio.

What exactly is a Tech 2R and what are DTC's? Does this Tech 2R come with the two update discs?

The Tech II is the service scanner used by dealers, $5200 retail (about half that if you know where to look). Among other things, it reads and clears DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), from the various computerized systems on the car.

Thanks a bunch Shopdog. Now I'm really wondering how some members are saying they are doing this upgrade themselves. I can't imagine they have the high priced scanner so I guess they are just taking a chance.

Was your Vette an early '05? When was it built? (The build date is on a sticker in the driver's door jam.) Thanks!

Would it be possible for someone to host a place where we can download the discs ourselves? I don't see why this would be illegal when it is necessary to fix a device we own. And besides, who really likes to take their car to the service department? Any ideas on how this could be handled? Just putting this out for discussion...

Why isn't this covered under warranty?

Had my update done yesterday and watched the process at my local dealership. Pretty simple to do and the TechII showed no codes after the update so I was in and out in under an hour
My paperwork has it listed under warranty repair N/C.

My upgrade disks came yesterday. I finally got the nerve to try the install today. All went smoothly. After the install I got and MP3 disk that I burned last year to try with no luck. When I put it in today the screen came up saying loading disk. Then shortly it began to play. My C6 was built mid-December 04 VIN 11987.

I can host them and planned to store them on my website once my CDs arrive Tuesday. If someone wants to email me (abrimberry at wall dot com) the ISOs of the CDs, I'll post them today. Thanks.

That's good to here. Mine is 11250 so it should work fine with it. I agree about the dealer visits. With my other cars I don't mind taking them in. However with the Vette I try to take care of any problems I can without visiting the dealer. No since in getting any extra scratches or having the tech doing burnouts on the test drive. I prefer to do them myself.
