I was 17. Bought a used red 1963 split window coupe in 1968 for 1,800.00. It had a red interior, 327/300hp engine and 4 speed transmission.
A few years ago I was at the Pebble Beach Concors and saw the identical car I had as a teenager parked on the street. I took the pictures below to remind me what a beautiful car that 63 was. I think this one may have had a 327/340hp engine.

Bought the first year of the C4. It handled great, but it had a pitiful 215 HP, couldn't get out of it's own way. The Doug Nash tranny was cool though...

I'll be 69 next month and this is my first vette. I have been driving 911s for many years. Just got tired of the high maintenance costs, and quality issues with the newer models.

I was 25 in 1970 when I got out of the USMC and bought a 1966 red vert. with 390. Got it for $1900 plus my 1964 Olds88. Got 1966 425 project coupe in 1979. Just sold it. Then a new white 1984. Parents took delivery of it for me and had a blast. Hope to have an '08 join the vert.and '84 in 21 months when I retire; not that I'm counting the time.

I was 29 when I bought a 1973 454 in 1986 for $6200. I was 48 when I bought a 2005 in 2004 for $50K. What comes to mind that was is in common with the two cars is they both had Corvette written on them with a two flag logo, the top came off, they had two seats and a transverse leaf spring. Other than that, there is not much in common.

Lets see, I was 13 when I first saw the 63 split window coupe and knew I wanted a Vette. Finally, at 54 I have a brand new C6
