The biggest problem with power top is how long will it work with many allready having problems . and how long are the fixes good for .

I've got the power top, and had some problems early on, but they seem to have disappeared (temporarily). If I had to do it over, I'd go for the manual top. Easy enough to use, less expensive, and more trunk space. And I put it up and down almost daily.

Have the power top and so far no trouble. Getting it means something will go wrong sometime, of course, because it's electrical. But I would no more go with the manual top then I would roll up windows, manual seat adjustments and a radio with mechanical push buttons. Besides, the new power top suits the new car.

one month 3K miles. Top goes up and down alot! Everytime I'm away from the car for more than 30 mins I put the top up and the back down when I get back in the car. I know this is going to sound funny but I bought the power top knowing I'm going to have probs!
My vote is for power top.

I got manual. Not a problem/happy with manual. No big deal.
If I'm missing out on something... it doesn't bother me any.

Manual top is the way to go....very simple & easy to raise & lower....fewer mechanicals/electricals to go wrong....takes up less space in the boot (oops, the trunk)....costs less

I have the power top...no problems in over 12k miles..Manual or power ? Old,new ? Remember, as stated by those who have had a problem with the power top, the power top can also be used manually The manual top will never be "powered", except by you...!

Then again my car has no other optone except 3.15 rear, yellow paint, and polished rims ($54,650 MSRP) for a Vert, so maybe I am just CHEAP

You will enjoy the Vert either way.

Manual top takes no more than a minute to put up or down.

Yellow paint is actually three coats; so you've got a lot of extra weight there. Including the drag it add's by being thicker. Overall, it's a good trade off by not taking the power top

Ironically Yellow appears to be a faster "car" even when parked.

Our C5 is manual and the C6 is auto - I find we put the top down much more frequently with the auto, one turn & push a button (lots of buttons to push on the C6, what's one more?). Getting in and out of the car is a PITA so if we are in doubt, we leave the C5 top up.

Also, when you drop the auto top cover in the trunk, we don't see any real noticable difference in trunk space between either cars.

All kidding aside, I am very performance/weight conscious and do wonder just how much extra weight the premium colors add (if any, and obviously minute if they do) over the other ones.

I have had the manual top on my 94, 00, and now on my 05. It is so easy and fast to put up and take down IMO save the 2K for other things.

I have the power top and love it. Last weekend at a show we compared a power top and manual top. Drove both with top up and down. We took turns with each others cars.

Both of us agreed that the power top C6 was quieter inside with the top up. There is almost no road noise when the top is up and you are cruising at 70+. Makes for very nice high speed cruising in the cool New England falls.

should not make a difference. The top is the same; the mechanism is different

The auto to me is a way cool option but I was warned that it would have lots of problems and many have so I didn't get it. If I had to do it all over again I would or the power top which tells you how stupid I am.

I had a manual in my '08 with no complaints at all. Because of health issues. I did not want to get in/out to raise or lower the top therefore, the 427 has a automatic, which has been problem free so far.
