Default rear window

Just took delivery on my C6 saturday.
Driving it home I noticed looking into the rear view mirror that it was like looking through water Not a clear image at all. I figured the dealer left some sort of transport protector on it. So I got home and and cleaned it, and its still there. Has anyone else experience this?
Also I noticed I have an engine noise on the AM side of my radio. I use the turn signal and i hear that noise in the radio, apply the brake and I can hear that noise!! WTF?
Anyone see these two issues on theirs?

The rear mirror view is that way because of the shape of the rear hatch glass. Get used to it. There's nothing that can be done about it. Can't help you with the other problem.

People actually use AM radio?

Sorry... Couldn't help it. I don't know what's wrong. Sounds like a bad ground.

Firstly,

The window is the window. I sold the coupe and got a 'vert. Much better. Also looks like my old Z06 notchback. Heeeheee. Rear window is screwed up. They could have done better.

The AM radio is a ground issue. Have the dealer check that out.

The brakes do squeak. There is a TSB (technical Service Bulletin) to change out the pads to ceramic. Take it to the dealer.

Hang in there. We all go thru this. Slowly but surely... you'll get your c6 in shape.

Cheers!
Bill.

I agree the window is the window.

Popping or whine in the radio does sound like a ground problem.

Does tinting the rear window improve the view?

Only if you don't like looking at what's outside.

Can you see the traffic using the rear view mirror?

There's nothing you can do about the window, it's normal. As for the AM radio reception mine works fine so I don't know.

For the best diagnostic servcie in our area go to Bryner Chevrolet in Jenkintown PA and see Steve Spencer. He's a Corvette Savant when it comes to odd issues.

Let me kwow when you're out and about, I want to see your car.

Best regards,
Mark

Yes, you just can't tell whether they are cars or some sort of morphed/bent vehicles from another planet. The view out the rear window is pretty bad on all coupes. Looks to me like the defroster grid makes it worse. In any case, it's pretty distorted.

I can see the traffic, but the girls don't look as nice!, guess I'll have to let them catch up to me!

So what I'm hearing is that all of us that have coupes, have to live with looking through a shower door? I thought we're in the 21st century, aren't we?

6 months and I'm used to the window, now driving my wife's Accord, the view out the back looks "wrong" because it's clear! I remember sitting in a 60's fastback with distorted glass so some things are just traditional to the Corvette. Heck, the supplier probably brought them a perfect sample and they said, this won't do, put some waves in it!

The window is the window rule.

It's for aerodynamics not for us!

Had the same reaction when I first received my C6. Got reassured once I went through some peeps having the same problem in this very forum.
