Hi everyone,

I have a built date for a 06 of 09.05.05.

Does that mean that car will begin production during that week, or will it be started and completed that week.

I have heard on this forum that the 2006 will only begin being built on 09.09.05.

Hence am I to assume that the car will go in and come out of assembly on that date?

Does it take 1 day to built a car??

I think you mean you have a TPW (Target Production Week) of 9/5. I don't think this is to spec an actual production day, just a target week for production. I would assume it could be a week on either side of it, except in this case since '06 production will not start until 9/9.

Roughly a day and a half from beginning to end of production line.

At least one 2006 convertible is known to be coming off the production line today, Thursday 9/8, so BG is slightly ahead of schedule. With a TPW of 9/5, your car will be built either today or tomorrow.

The 9/9 date was the projected date that the 2006 coupes and verts would come off the line which would mean they had to start several days earlier. I think they are actually a day ahead of schedule with 2006 coupes and verts coming off the line now.

I have the same 9/5 TPW and my local dealer tells me that it will be 4 to 6 weeks for delivery from there. Does this sound right? It seems a bit long for delivery, but I have no prior experience.

I had a TPW of 9/5 and my car was built yesterday (Fri) with a VIN#...856, with a projected delivery date of 9/29.
