GM Badg on fender of 06' vette
GM is placing a small GM badge on some of its 06' vehicles. Does anyone now if it will be on the 06' vette? or have any pics of it if it is going to be on the vette? I hope not, I think the vette looks fine without out it and if it is on my ordered 06 can I have it removed without damaging the paint?

All 06 GM vehicles will have them. They are glued on and should come off with out to much of a problem. I saw a Corvette at the factory with one and it was down low in front of the rear wheel.

Another fine example of the marketing brass at GM putting their heads squarely where the moon don't shine...
If there is one GM model that doesn't require a sign that says "I'm GM", it's gotta be the vette.
I wonder how long this stupidity will last, before the complaints finally get them to stop?
I just hope the stickers will easily come off without damage to the paint...

SAw it on the cevrolet.com web site. It is on the ZO6 and looks to be about the size of the head of a lug nut, fairly small but I agree it has no buisness on the vette!!!

The Dealers will deliver a 'vette. or any other car for that matter, "without badging" if you request it as part of the deal. There is no cost for this, but don't mention it after the fact, it needs to be part of the deal. I had them do this on my '04 suburban for a simple and clean look. Don't forget to tell them to skip the dealer sticker also...

Apply the dental floss trick that some are using to remove that gargoyle front license plate bracket...the dental flosss will cut through the adhesive thickness; then use the B&T Remover to clean up the residue.

Burning Brakes
It's not "glued on" - it's double-sided tape.
Take it off as soon as you can. The longer it's on the vehicle the more the sun bakes it on making it (and any factory-installed graphics "stickers") harder to remove.
Remove it carefully (don't scratch the car while removing it) and then "roll" any tape residue off with your fingers. Then use bug/tar cleaner to get any adhesive residue and then wax.

And they don't put the stinkin dealer badges on in CA either. I'll never figure out this east coast and their car detailing. Most of the time the friggin things are crooked to boot.

Disgusting.
So, I guess the Corvette hood ornament is next from the general....?
It is abundantly clear that the orignal designers don't have a hand, or any control, over these kinds of bone-headed decisions. Some marketing flak looking to be a hero....
Hey, yesterday the radio said some gov'nt functionary down in Kiwi-territory decided Aussies in gov'nt should not refer to folks as 'mate'. Well, that ruling lasted exactly 24 hours, until the citizenry, media, and other more clear-minded officals laughed it right into retraction.

This thing of the chrome badge being on sticky tape started some sort of hum in the back of my head, and I didn't know why... just had the strange feeling of quasi-deja-vu... been-there-done-that-fought-that-battle-made-that-argument...
but could not put my finger on it....
UNTIL NOW!
It is exactly the same as the use of Flash on website opening screens:
1. Adds little to no real value to the product*
2. Is ANNOYING to the very people who ought to be courted (visitor/customer)
3. Is put in place by HACKS who won't have to live with it
4. Must be made easily defeatable, which indicates someone KNOWS it is annoying, and yet they persist in doing it any way
Am I the only one who finds this infuriating? Lots of people say "oh, chill out, it's just a little thing", but it is the fact it is IMPOSED, and ... well, just go through the points above... enough to make my blood boil!
If they really thought it was essential, they'd drill a stinkin' huge hole right through the fender and make that love puppy permanent, now wouldn't they? But they dare not -- thank goodness -- they know stupid badgery must be removable these days.
*(Bits of square shiney metal, as well as Flash animation might be great for doing some tasks... but when stuck on as adornment which must be ESCAPED, it is nothing but a clearly avoidable annoyance)
