Stolen C6 Nightmare
Last night I had a nightmare that knocked me out of bed.....that my red/black c6 vert was stolen....luckily it was only a nightmare....so what is everybody doing to stop their baby from theft (other than stock factory)...do you think 'THE CLUB' is enough? tanx

Unfortunately, 'the club' can be bypassed in less than 30 seconds...saw a demo on how this is done. Need to divide car theft into two camps- amateur joy riding thrill seeking types and this is where most of your theft deterrent systems/devices work (club, lojack, OEM systems etc); the second is professionals (chop shop to exporting over seas) and there is nothing to stop them…if there is a system they know how to bypass or eliminate and if a new something comes out they find a way around. For me… having a garage with a security system is my main protection… oh along with the 500 lb gorilla that lives in the garage

If mine's stolen I don't want it back.

EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS....
That is why I have insurance!
Plus I get to order a "new one" if my Vette ever gets stolen or hurt in an accident.

I would think chances are pretty low of being stolen unless you leave it in an area or parked where we probably wouldn't leave the car for other reasons.
Its a car - if stolen I don't want it back - just get another one.

It's either in my garage or I can see it when I park it. The Corvette, being a limited production vehicle, is not that appealing to car thieves. They go after the mass produced vehicles like Honda Accords and Toyota Camry's. Those are worth more on the black market because of the high demand for parts. Also Vettes have a more sophisticated alarm system.

you're MUCH more likely to have your ride snatched if you're driving an accord, camry or F150.. than a C6.
do what you can to (common sense) to not make things too easy, keep your insurance premium up to date and sleep well. that's what we do.

A joy rider might go somewhere else if they know the fob system and see a club. A pro will know how to defeat the fob and will slice through your steering wheel with an electric saw in about 15 seconds and then just yank the club off. Plus the club is a pain in the butt.
If they think you have lojack, they'll just park it somewhere for 24 hours to see if its got it. By then, your car has been hacked, everything in it has been stolen and they probably drove the **** out of it. I want a new one at that point.

They have this wheel lock for the front tire. Looks like the one used by the city when you don't pay your parking tickets.
One of our club members has it, but I guess if you wanted to cut thru it you could. The only difference is you'll be on the outside and visible, not inside, invisible!

One of my cars was stolen and unfortunately recovered. It was never the same.

1. It brings me personal satisfaction to see them catch the jerk off who takes my car and bust him.
