So, you are saying chrome wheels are an option on the 2006 models?

I have a Silver '05 that came with Comp. Grays. I took them off immediately and replaced them with polished wheels. A much better look IMO. I think the polished have the right reflectivity with a silver sports car but would consider chrome OEMs as an option if they were not significantly heavier. I still feel they are more for lux cars than sports car though and will not make any effort to put a set on my car.

I contemplated over this one for a while myself.
I'm ordering my Machine Silver vette with the with painted wheels. The painted wheels actually match Machine Silver Vette and look sportier than the chrome or polished, IMHO.

The polished and chrome wheels just seem too bling, bling for me.
To each, their own.

Good choice.

The painted wheels look great with the MS.

I have the polished wheels. I like them a lot but I'm not sure they are worth the extra money.

IMHO...

I think sport cars should not have chrome wheels, door handles, etc. Look around, specially European cars, you will see that. I had an AMG for 5 years. I changed the wheels to chrome and it looked ordinary after that. It is all the after market stuff that are pushing chrome to sell wheels. Polished look is more expensive and has a higher class. You can't replace that with chrome.

Thanks for all of the comments everyone. I'm leaning towards polished and I had originally discounted the painted. Maybe I'll order the painted, then pick up a set of the polished take-offs on ebay! I'm just not used to the idea of black rims...they might grow on me over time, but not yet.

Even on BLACK, I think the "painted" rims look great, IMO. One thing, they sure are easy to care for. You can wash & dry all 4 in ten minutes.

Machine Silver - Chrome always. NOT STOCK chrome, get MOTORSPORT Chrome. (Aftermarket, cheaper than GMs supposed/foretold stock chrome)

I have the polished wheels and haven't ever considered replacing them with chrome. I like the polished look with the Machine Silver
