Default Paddle-Shifters

When the 2006 Automatic Transmission comes out, will the paddle shifting be optional... or do you have to be constantly shifting with you fingers?

Ive held off my family until the 2006 just for the say of having a 6spd instead of an old-tech 4spd

Sorry... Big Typo

I meant - I have asked my family to wait until the 2006's come out, to buy a corvette, just for the sake of having a 6spd Tranny.

Will the 6spd be worth waiting for?

I think it will be yes....and it is my understanding that the paddle shifter 6 speed will be standard but I think you're asking if you MUST always use the paddles/buttons while driving and the answer to that is no, you will be able to put it in 'D' and drive normally like any other automatic.

I think the A6 will be worth waiting for because I am getting one. Some A4 owners would disagree. Only the lord knows for sure.

I hope the six speed auto is better. Probably most A4 auto owners including me will be a little envious! I drove "an alien" brand vehicle the other day with the paddle shift and the gear number readout on the dash and just loved it to pieces. Others probably could care less. Me I love to DRIVE my automatic.

The 2006 A6 is gonna suck.

The new colors suck.

The new steering wheel sucks.

Hiding the XM antenna sucks.

With those GM badges the car's appearance sucks.

I'm really, really glad I have a 2005 A4!! Really I am!!!!!

Now please excuse me while I open my wrists.

Just wait until the A6 is a confirmed hit. Your medication won't help.

I would hate to think what will happen to some of us when the 2007's come out with fixes for the A6, steering wheel audio controls and even better colors.

Drove a 2006 convertible with A6 two weeks ago. Loved it! Can't wait to order mine. Have already talked to dealer.
