southern , CA hard water spots
everytime i wash the car out here the widows get hard water spots. windex alone will not get rid of them. i have used white vinegar mixed w/ water to rub them out. are there any other products, glass cleaners, that will get rid of them w/ out having to use the vinegar? meguiers quick detailer gets them off the paint but i tried it on the windows and it caused more problems than its worth. makes everything blurry and very difficult to get completely off.
will putting a coat of wax on the windows help?

The perfect solution to hard water spots on glass and shower doors:
"Nothin's Better" is the name of the product.
It is an 8 oz jar of "microlite powder"...you dip a damp cloth in to the powder and rub the glass...it will actually polish the glass! I would then wax the glass to help prevent future staining.
You can get this in most auto parts stores...the phone number is:
800-668-2887....or 916-925-8451

Vinegar is best (and cheapest) if you get the spots. After it happened to me once, I found drying the windows quickly after washing was the best way. Better to prevent than worry about which product works best.

I use Multi-Mist, Creme cleanser. You can buy it at most class shops. Removes and polishes...kind of a grity glass polishing compound, but it does the trick.

I'n in N. Cal where we use very hard 'well water' and I have a balc TA...wating for the C6. Pretty straight forward, wash in the shade, dry the windows fisrt and they will be perfect.
Also, some wax's are misted on while the car is wet. Mist the dry, windows and all. I was prtty imprssed with how well it did. My neighbor thought I had new clear coat.

Use the Mister Clean Auto Dry, it has a replaceable filter in the rinse position. I used to towel dry my car, now I run the rinse cycle and let it air dry, no spots. Check your local Auto Parts store, I bought mine from a local (HEB) supermarket chain in their automotive section.

How about RAIN X would that help? I use it on my boat and it works great. Especially on the Colorado River where the water is very hard.

Vinegar is still the cheapest and best for removing hard water spots on glass. Of course, best is to not let them form to begin with by using a good squeege in the shade. The leaf blower idea works really well for drying the car.
