Has anyone had trouble w/ rear latch pull down?
Of course this would be on the coupe. Sometimes when I shut the hatch, it does not suck down. Other times, when I get into the car, the hatch pops up. I thought that I might be hitting the button on the fob by accident. Has anybody had anything similar happen to you? I dred bringing it to the dealer w/ only 1200 miles on it. Thanks for the help.

The pulldown on the hatch is very inconsistent from car to car and owner to owner. Some have the knack of using the pulldown handle inside the hatch cover and being able to get it to latch most of the time. Others have quite a problem with it and have to press it down to get it to take hold. Mine latches about 90% of the time just using the pulldown handle.
Don't think I've heard of anyone having a problem with the hatch popping open unexpectedly. Sounds like you need to try some other procedure for your fob than what you're currently using.

I hate to say that you need to watch the little video in the FAQ but... You need to watch the little video in the FAQ. Closing the hatch requires just the right knack, not to fast, not to slow, not to much force not to little. No, it shouldnt be this way, anyone should be able to close a hatch on any car without watching a video. This is a common and well deserved gripe with the car. The good news is that when you have built up your hatch closing skills you can go to a C6 get together and casually open your hatch, pull something out, then impress all watchers (at least those who have C6s) by closing it sucsessfully.

I've had a coupe so I'm aware of that problem. The trunk on the Vert is impossible. You've gotta lean on it for it to latch and use your wrists or you'll fingerprint the trunk.

It's all in the wrist.
Best to have a door open when closing the hatch...works 100%!!
The other method (when doors are closed)... is gently close the hatch and press the door down with the palm of your hand center of hatch..and voila...the hatch sucks down with a positive catch!!
It's a matter of technique...practice in the privacy of your garage.

With the door open it should latch close to 100% of the time... with doors closed you need to give it a gentle nudge as Rx4wrk quoted. As for this being an issue. I dont expect doors or latches to close themselves when they are the last door open on a well sealing car... I see it as a non issue

with the door open or a window down, or the roof off, the hatch will close very easy, just a flick of the wrist and it shuts.
with everything closed there is too much pressure in the cabin to allow the hatch to close easily, you need to throw the hatch down using the handle, it will close everytime, you will hear a thump, glunk, type of sound when it latches.

Havent had any issues with mine... it is sorta a "feel" thing... I normally just close it... maybe 30% of the time it doesnt... I have learned the "feel" or force amount to push gently and the car pulls it on down... I love the handle on the C6 coupes.... makes for no fingerprints...

Nah guys, If you watch the video you will see the handle/flip method. This works without the door or doors open and no need to push it into the sucker grabber (still love that name just as much as the first time the one fellow posted it) afterwards. It does take a little practice though. As I said, master this and impress all your C6 driving friends when you close the hatch in on smooth motion without having to press it into the sucker grabber after the fact.
