Default C6 F55 Selective ride Control

I just received my 2005 C6 that has the F55 package. For 1600.00-I can tell you that I do not feel a bit of difference in the suspension. Tour mode and sport mode feel no different. Is this how it should be??
Thanks for your input.

To full appreciate the sport setting you need to push your car hard. I find the cornering and take off much sharper. Drive at about 30mph on a bumpy road and switch between the two settings, you will find the touring setting "smoother".

Make sure that the dealership took out the stuffers. If they didn't, it won't work.

There was also a thread a while back about a bad wire or controller that can cause this.

Default Only 500 miles on ... but

I just got my C6 last week. Have not really tested it, but the little I did was on the interstate. I notice everything seem tighter. Steering, turning.
Hopefully this weekend is nice. Test it more - with the top off too!!

In the "tour" position, the magnetic ride controller emphasizes a body pitch, roll and heave algorithm when setting shocks, and when set in "sport", it emphasizes wheel control. The system is always working to smooth out the ride in both modes, but under certain road conditions it is difficult to actually feel a difference between tour and sport. Especially when driving on relatively smooth roadways with an occaisional bump or divit.

They don't put these on the C6 like they did the C5.

I found that if you try it over speed bumps you can test it. Hit a speed bump at 25-30 in tour and the car will bottom out. Do the same in sport and it wont bottom......

Hmmm...well, then, it could be that bad wiring or controller or whatever it was.

I won't comment on the sport mode, but what do you mean you don't feel any difference in the suspension for 1600.00? Compared to what? Certainly, you have to push the car to really appreciate the Z51 or F55 in sport mode. But I think you have to travel bad roads to truly appreciate tour mode. I've driven some bad roads the last month as the end of winter tears up the asphalt, and I am simply amazed at the way the F55 suspension smooths out the ride.

I also have F55 on my C6 coupe. I can feel a HUGE difference between the sport mode and the tour mode. In tour it feels like a Caddy and in sport it has a Z51 feel to it. I especially like the way this setting firms up the ride. My C6 feels more solid and much tighter in sport mode. I'am seriously thinking about adding the Z51 sway bars and a set of GY Eagle F1 Super Car tires for spring/summer driving.

I suppose that best test would be if the C6 is driven hard over a bad road. My comment about $ 1600.00 is simply that for a complex refined suspension,I would have imagined that you would feel even a minor difference when changing between modes. I simply do not feel any difference at all. I'll have the dealer check it out to be sure it is working the way it's supposed to.

It takes a while, but there is a difference. I put mine in sport mode when I back out of the driveway to minimize air dam scrap. After the first few bumps I hit I realize that I forgot to put back into
touring. Once in touring the bumps disapear. On hard turns you will feel the difference in sport mode. Give it time , there is a lot going on with these new vettes. If your looking for a dramatic difference ,it's not there!

Huge difference.......added the Z51 sway bars to beef up on cornering and am completely satisfied with overall performance in both sport and touring mode.

Yea, it's a real shame you can't get the sway bars and Z51 tranny with the F55 to begin with...

I did this mod and it really made the two settings come to life for me. I don't know that the change in feel is real or imagined, but the butt sensors tell me that there is now a definite difference in the settings.
