Thanks Rick. That's what I've been saying. You need to have Millennium Yellow and Velocity Yellow next to each other to tell the difference.

Monterey Red looks good.

Can't believe they are killing mag red, Montery is to dark and dull. IMO mag red is the best red of the group

Those are big paint chips. The yellows don't look much different-wonder why the change. I still like good old Torch red.

Good job Rick...

This should clear things up for those wondering.

Once again our forum dealers/sales professionals are on top of it!

Thanks, Rick! The forum is great!

Glad I got my Mag Red. (Not that the 2006 colors are bad, but I am real happy.)

Would have liked to have gotten a 6spd auto, but not interested in paying for OnStar & sat. radio in the (1SB) package.

Actually, for 2006 buyers it will be good news and bad news...the good news (besides the six speed auto) is that Onstar is NOT included in the 3LT (1SB) package according to Marvin's previous info on the option packages ; the bad news...2006 buyers will have to buy the XM radio as part of 3LT (1SB) package. (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...=SuperChevyICM ;see page 4).

Thanks for the color chips, Rick.

At least Monterey Red appears NOT TO BE that lame Monterey Maroon on the Envoys. Monterey Red is dark, but has a little more life to it than the MM on the SUVs. I'll have to wait and see it on the car...then decide between Monterey Red, Machine Silver, or Daytona Sunset Orange

Edit: "At least Monterey Red appears NOT TO BE that lame Monterey Maroon on the Envoys." Uhhhh...Maybe not; Another dealer has now indicated 80U IS the Envoy color". The picture I saw of the Monterey Maroon on the Envoy looked faded and lifeless compared to the chip Rick posted. I guess we'll have to wait and see it on the car.

Rick: Thanks for posting the paint chips as it had a very decisive yet sobering effect on my vette buying experience. I have or rather "had" a mag red vert on order that I will not receive because of the allocation system and discontinuation of the mag red color in the middle of the 05 production run. As a friend of a family who owns a small Chevy dealership, I opted to take advantage of a $3200 discount off MSRP for the Vert in lieu of paying MSRP or more with a forum dealer. Well, I went for the discount, gambled a bit on their ability to secure an allocation, and lost out on the color I wanted. No sour grapes as I knew the odds because of all of the info on this Forum. After looking over the paint chips for quite some time, and being cognizant that the chips may not faithly reflect the true color of the new Monterey red, I more or less instantly decided that I am not drawn to the new color as it is much too dark and un-inspiring. I can't imagine that this color will be more popular than mag red -- but the key is that it is probably simpler to apply and less hassle for the paint booths at the factory. For my tastes, I will drop back to Victory Red and take all this in as a GM lesson learned the hard way. VR, after all, is a beautiful color but still my second choice. In retrospect, I should have paid the extra money and gotten the color with a Forum dealer with a guaranteed allocation. We'll see what develops on the VR.

Does anyone really like the new red color better than mag red?

OK, I feel more comfortable about Velocity Yellow. I'll take it. The big question is: WHEN?
I am kind of hoping that since the most recent production schedule calls for zero production of 79U and 86U, that could mean they are trying to startup the new colors ASAP, maybe sooner than everyone expects. That is my prayer for tonight!

Looks like the MilYellow is more chromatic (brighter) than the Velocity Yellow to me...as much as I can tell from the picture.
