I LOVED my black vette, and still do, I think because it came to a sudden end. The black C6 didn't seem to match up to my Baby, so I went for the Mag Red C6 and LOVE it...auto and all. Get one of each

As for me, I'm waiting on a black vert, so you know what I think.

I was without question sold on DSOM, until I saw the DSOM side by side with the Mag Red at the LA Auto Show, and now I'm completely sold on the Mag Red, as the Mag Red IMO blew the DSOM away...I mean it was just awesome!

Black is the ONLY color for me - so I am very biased.
If you go the Zaino route, you will not have any problems keeping the car looking great. Zaino is a polishing layering system which reduces finger printing, allows for dust to blow off the car, and finally, does not produce any swirl marks.
Yes, black does show dust, pollen, etc. - is the news to anyone?
Washing? You do it as much as you need to. For me, it is once every week in good weather up here.
Bugs? Unlike the metallic colors, black does not "attract" insects. However, when you hit them, they do show up as very obvious splats -see washing above about what to do with them.
Pics of my black "love missle" can be viewed by clicking on them to the left under "my corvette pictures".
Finally, some comments that people have said about the car in black: "Sinister" "Great Looking" "Cool" and finally - "Best color for making the car look completely put together".
As the old saying goes: Once you go black, you never go back

Gotta go black.......nothing looks better when it's all shined up. Plus, you can be a member of the Black Sheep Squadron. If you go with black, I suggest the red leather interior.....awesome combo.

I love red, and think it would be awesome. However, I have had too many red cars, so I got the black. Yep my black/grey Mn 6, 1sb, takes more care and cleaning, and I know I will see swirls, but I saw swirls in the red cars I have had, so right now, I am loving the black. I think it looks great.

Of the 3 choices mentioned in the thread starter post, Victory Red hands down. It's bright, eye-catching, and makes no pretenses at sophistication, but rather it projects a theme of pure sport and performance.
Black cars look great when highly polished and viewed up close. Anything other than up close and the details of the car are lost.
Magnetic red is another excellent color. Purely subjective, of course, but I find the only metallic paint color that looks appropriate for a true sports car to be silver (silver or green for Aston Martins). Metallic colors other than silver look like they belong on a sports coupe or sedan.

Of course, the police will turn their heads, too!
I originally sought out orange for my C5, which, of course they didn't make. So, I finally went DSOM with my C6. DSOM turns heads only about 1/2 what Mag Red did. And, that also includes the police!
I must admit, that DSOM still doesn't bring out the jingles in me like Mag Red did, even after 6 years!

I was at lunch with a client out by my dealer and stopped by this afternoon to check on my order and my salesman took me in back to show me the VR vert they had that is going on their floor to be sold. I ordered LeMans Blue which I love but after seeing the VR I may switch my order in the next few days. Looked great and showed the lines of the car beautifully. If it was auto and didn't have XM I probably would have bought it right there and then.
