mgazine test was for 0-60mph world top 10 quickest production cars. i thought these 3 cars did ~4.0 - 4.2 sec 0-60 :confused: :confused:
anyway, here is the list.

#10 Ferrari 575M......... 4.25 seconds
#9 Lamborghini Gallardo........ 4.2
#8 Dodge Viper SRT-10........ 4.0
#7 Porsche 911 GT-2......... 3.9
#6 Ferrari F50........ 3.7
#5 Ferrari Enzo......... 3.65
#4 Lamborghini Murceilago........ 3.5
#3 Ford GT......... 3.3
#2 McLaren F1....... 3.2
#1 Bugatti Veyron 16.4....... 3.0

I'd like to know what their definition of production car is - some references say over 100 produced (per year), but like several racing clubs, including some SCCA cite over 500 units!

I think either of these numbers might remove the Bugatti and McLaren from the list. I think a more interesting top ten would be defining production at something a little higher, or at least call that list the Top Ten fastest **produced** vehicles :cheers:

produced being, cars you won't see and can't buy :D

they did not test themselves as far as i know. this months Razor magazine.

production meaning its been crash tested , street leagal and offered to public for sale.

It's actually 1000 units for SCCA consideration. Hence why cars like the Porsche GT2 and Ferrari 360 Modena are not eligible for stock class.

But, that list is a farce. Calling a McLaren F1 a "production car" is a joke. How many of those things were produced worldwide? Oh wait ... quick google search .... wow, a whopping 64 units from '93 to '98. Production car ... riiiiigghht. :rolleyes:

as well as the ford gt never did a 3.3 0-60. Lets see the ford gt vs the viper srt-10 in motor trend in the quarter mile and almost the whole track was a dead heat. so the whole list stinks. i would deffinately replace 2-3 cars on the list. gt-2 and lambo may be in question as well.. instead they should have the zo6 adn the 911 turbo... now that i did more research on it lambo out ,enzo out, f50 out with the others mentioned above..

i could be wrong about this but i heard they added 50hp to the Ford GT since early production and hp is now at a 550 and performance #s are better as well. anyone know :confused:

Who cares about 0-60 mph anyway? A more fitting straight line test for cars of this caliber would be the 1/4 mile and beyond. :smash:
