Optima Battery
I had to replace my battery and went with the optima but I am having trouble mounting it. Before I modify the hold down I thouhgt I'd see if anyone else has a recommended solution.
BTW the battery hold down in my 2001 Z06 seems to be pretty simple. I'm surprised they will let you on the track with only that rubber thing to hold down the battery

Re: Optima Battery (gasboy)
my optima red top bolted right in.
mine did as well...
I also got the Optima hold down clamp just in case of a "fit" problem. The stock hold down worked just fine.

Re: Optima Battery (C5Longhorn)
There are two different models of Optima Red Tops that I see people putting into the C5. Remy Battery recommended I put in the 75/35-925, which fit perfectly after a little wiggling around. People are also putting in the 34/78-1050, which has more cranking power, but weighs 6 - 8 lbs more. I decided I didn't need more cranking power and wanted to respect the original goal for lowering the car weight on my Z06. :D

Re: Optima Battery (Z.06)
I use the RED TOP, easy to install, works great.
