My parents' neighbor in Greensboro got a 2002 M3 s-speed last year when he finished up at U Penn. I got my Z and took him for a ride it and he was shocked w/ the speed. Well it's official he picked up a black/black '03 Z w/ 3200 miles. And get this he wheeled and dealed and got it for $37,000 :eek: w/ an extended warratny! :cheers:

Tried to buy a brand new M3 at Steve Thomas BMW but the ****** would not let me test drive one. I had even bought from their in the past. So I bought the Z06 instead. Thank you God for showing me the light! :chevy

I drove an E46 M3 just before buying the Z06. I gotta say that both cars are stong in their respective suits. I would say if power & speed is what you want thent eh Z is your guy/girl. If class and prestige along with a nice interior is your preference, well then the Z takes the back seat to the M3. To call one better than the other? Hmmm don't know about that one.....

The M3 is a sweet ride, but the C5's, especially the Z06 is a definitely better performance vehicle.

BMW=fast sporty sedan-big deal! Why do they feel the need to race! I have had at least two challenge me on the highway.

Vette=American Muscle Car. Always attracts eyes, especially the Z06. There is none better!

Hmmm...a regular C5? Nah..I've beaten stock ones in a straight line enough to know better than that. Handling and turns I'd get 'em as well. But the Z06 on the other hand, I agree.

The thing that's funny is that the people that own these cars (the M3 for instance) could have easily afforded a Z06 if that was what floated their boat. It's not like you guys own something that a ton of people can't have if they wanted too. But I wanted more refinement, luxury and quality than the Z06 offered. I even test drove one. Defintiuely a nice car, and the best the US has to offer IMO, but it's not on the same level as the M series cars. Now when the C6 Z06 comes out..I'll definitely take another look at them.

Nah-My thread dealt with whether or not it is proper for a Corvette to challenge another Corvette to a duel at a red light, NOT if it was proper for a Corvette to race a different type of car!

First off, Sedan's have 4-doors. Coupes have two. The E46 M3 is a Coupe.

As far as "why the hell they need to race", I imagine it's the same reason that the two C-5 vettes wanted to race me. A ***** size contest. Both of them lost, and when I gave them a thumbsup afterward, they ignored me. Pretty mature. When I lost to a Electron Blue Z06 at the track, we talked about cars for a good half an hour. Nice guy. You remind me of the C-5 guys that lost. You also posted some trash talk about a Porsche 911 TT in another thread.

As far as legend goes, yes, the Corvette is absolutely a legend. But so is the M3 for the same reasons. Racing. Not in the same class/division. But both legends in their own right. And so is Porsche. If you don't realize this then I suggest you do a little research.

As far as attracting eyes, well I'd be willing to bet that my car will attract more attention from females than yours will. But if guys are who you'd prefer to get attention from, I'll give you that.:D
