Re: clay bar (ksems)
There is nothing you can do to pamper the skin of your baby more than taking a clay bar to it every six months or so (probably not wise to do it any more than that). It'll take the better part of a day to wash, clay, polish, wax, and buff (and maybe wax and buff again), but it's well worth it. Even after a good day of polishing and waxing, you can still feel some fine particles on the car's surface. Not so with the clay bar. It takes all of the contaminates off.

I had never heard of a clay bar before I joined this forum. You're right, they are awesome! Even before you wax, you can see & fel the difference from using one. If you haven't tried it, go out and get it.

Sorry for dragging up an old post, but do you have to strip all old coats of wax and pollish off of the car before claying?

But there is no need to remove the wax. Whatever brand of clay you use, the directions will not tell you to remove the wax. The clay & lubricant will remove the contaminants. The lubricant is a type of wax (like the fast or quick wax).

I don't know what "put a dent in wax" means. Naturally, after you clay, you will want to put on a fresh coat or two of polish and wax.

Re: clay bar (ksems)
Went ahead and bought the clay majic for my truck which my son drove for six months in the sun and night time fallout. He did wash it weekly. Surface felt like sand paper too. We used the clay on it one Sat. and the surface is now as smooth as a babys butt. Well worth the effort, and very easy to use.
