Corvette Etiquette
Since I started driving my new Z06 it appears there is some unwritten etiquette rule that Corvette drivers wave to one another when they cross paths on the road. I think someone felt I blew them off when I did not wave to them. This was like the first time someone waved to me though. It is pretty interesting. I wonder if this is a universal rule or just in my area.

Yep a wave is mandatory. I also flash the passing lights real quick a couple of times (unless i've got somebody in front, thinking I'm trying to pass them)...kind of a dit-dit, dit-dit. I get waves from Harley drivers also. I have a Harley myself and have been doing the bike-to-bike waves for years, but not to 'vettes...hmmm...must be a "you have a cool ride" thing. :seeya

I wave to every corvette I see , I also work for the city so I wave to all the city vehicles when I'm in my work truck another unwritten law I suppose. :seeya

It kind of goes with the saying "unless you own one, you just won't understand". Well, we own one, we understand, and so we wave in acknowledgement of our understanding. ;) :flag :seeya

Re: Corvette Etiquette (theblackvette)
You are admitting on this forum that you didn't wave? :nono: Didn't anyone swear this guy in? :p: I feel violated...I think the first 20 replies to your thread deserve a case of beer on you. :D

What rock have you been hiding under? First Vette huh? Just kidding.
Enjoy the Z and always remember to wave (even if they don't wave back). :hurray:

Mr. theblackvette
A not uncommon practice among various makes throughout the world. Although some make the wave a little more restrained.
